In the airport, ready to fly home. Yesterday was a great way to wrap up our week in Philly. Starting with a very insightful lecture by the great conceptual illustrator Jon Krause. His art is so smart and so beautifully designed. Great lessons for our students on concept development in illustration. We then finished up at the Philadelphia Sketch Club and the Plastic Club. Rich Harrington gave us a talk on the history of each club. Then our students drew models upstairs while I demoed for the Sketch Club members. It has been a great week in Philly. WOW oh WOW!! What a great day yesterday was for our MFA in Illustration students attending Illuxcon 2025. They met and visited amazing artist Donato Giancola, Bob Eggleton, Allen Douglas, David Wenzel, Justin Gerard, Annie Steig, Elliott Lang, Jon Sideriadis, Julie Bell and the legend Boris Vallejo. These artists are showing their original art with dozens of terrific fantasy artists in Reading, PA. This is always a huge hit when we visit Philadelphia in October.
